You do not need a referral to get started: without one, the practice nurse practitioner can see you first and provide it. A referral is needed for the consultation with Professor Rodda itself, and it is what allows you to claim the Medicare rebate. Your GP sends it to us directly, so there is nothing you need to do with it yourself.
If you do not have a referral, you can book with the practice nurse practitioner, who can assess you, arrange imaging, start treatment and write the referral if you need one. See booking your first appointment.
What happens next.
- Your referral arrives and the rooms call you within two business days.
- You are offered an appointment within four weeks. Tell the team if it is urgent.
- You receive a written fee estimate before you attend. See fees.
- Bring your imaging, including the films or disc rather than only the report.
